He doesn't care about the pandemic, unemployment, or the economy.

But he does care deeply about statues of racist white men.

He puts an emphasis on monuments, statues, symbols, icons, idols, as a means to help divorce his followers, (who are both deeply conspiratorial and paranoid delusional) from consensus reality and to connect himself with those symbols by way of association, as we saw during his last two Independence Day campaign rallies.

He knows that perception is everything and it is all that matters to his loyal devotees, (and I mean that in a religious sense concerning the MAGAt Church). If you read up on them, you will see that they are very far down his rabbit hole and it explains a lot and it may even be rather dangerous, especially around the GE.

It's part of the disconnect that allows him to evoke certain feelings and lead the faithful off on various tangents of belief in lieu of facts or reality. You can notice that when you watch him in that way.

There's more, but I won't go into it.

But my heart is still 35 minutes away in Baltimore!

Proud of the city I once called home and had some of the best times of my life.

“We understand the dynamics playing out in Baltimore are part of a national narrative. We understand the frustrations. ... We’ve seen people who have taken to the streets. We have supported them. We are going to continue to support it. That’s a full stop.”
