The most important Pennsylvania congressional races used to be in the Philly suburbs. Not anymore.

For years, the fight for congressional seats in Pennsylvania centered on the moderate Philadelphia suburbs.

But now, in the wake of a broad political realignment turbocharged by President Donald Trump’s election in 2016, attention has shifted to newly contested regions of the state.

Democrats, who captured almost every suburban seat in 2018, believe their next best shot lies in a changing south-central Pennsylvania district. Some Harrisburg suburbs there are gradually trending blue, while Republican Rep. Scott Perry is sticking to his staunchly conservative stances. Republicans, meanwhile, are targeting a working-class Northeast Pennsylvania district breaking from its Democratic roots.

And a perennial battleground in Bucks County is still competitive but less of a priority than in the past, as Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick tries to hang onto the one Philadelphia-area district still in Republican hands.

But a lot of Republican strongholds everywhere seem to be showing electoral fissures. Let's see what happens in the general election of 2020.

At looking “moderate” and “reasonable.” The Party lets him make symbolic votes on occasion to make him look like he’s on our side. Sadly too many people are fooled by this crap. Last time had had a weak opponent. I like Christine Finello and hope she can get the district back in the blue column.

...but quite filled with rednecks of an obnoxious kind.

I don't follow Fitzpatrick, but I can't imagine, just based on all the blue flags, Trump signs and right wing signs that he has to pretend to be moderate.

One can see the Confederate flag displayed in that area quite a bit, Trump flags, the whole shebang of dumb ass Nazis who couldn't care less that Putin pays people to kill American soldiers.

They are fond, in that region, of killing American Soldiers. The Confederates they worship killed hundreds of thousands of American Solidiers, and they're flying their flags.
