Parents might "want" schools to open in theory, but what a nightmare code to make.

6. Probably not the ones who don't want their kids to get it.

I'm in New Zealand. When we went from Level 4 (all schools closed) to Level 3 (optional to send your kid to school or keep them home) basically everyone kept their kids home unless both parents were essential workers.

You'll get the odd true believer, but middle-class suburban college educated moms aren't going to send their kids into a pandemic hot zone just so they can get back to the office quicker.

Schools will not reopen for long because those siblings and parents are going to get sick from their own kids. Teachers and professors don't want to catch it either so good luck with this futile and completely ridiculous plan for the worst hit country. The Fed Gov isn't giving the states any $$$ either so this is going to land like a lead balloon.

Plus those on the drop program who will decide they’ve had enough and retire and they can open the schools but there won’t be enough teachers.

We don’t expect them to spend 6 months in fox hole or a year in a foreign desert looking for IEDs. But still these small sacrifices are too much.

I am just thankful my Texas ISD has an online option.

14. Apparently tRump doesn't care if we kill half our teachers and school staff.

Maybe he wants to so Republicans can replace them with right-wing idiots.

Assholes like tRump must never have been inside a typical American school classroom with 30 or more kids packed into a small space with poor or no ventilation.

My daughter teaches 5th grade reading in a public school and I do not want her to be exposed to this disease for her sake and the sake of my granddaughter and her extended family.
