'PEOPLE WILL GET OVER IT'The White House is reportedly hoping Americans 'will grow numb' to the COVID-19 death toll
July 6, 2020
>>As new COVID-19 cases and deaths continue to rise in the United States, White House officials are reportedly crossing their fingers that Americans will simply get used to it.
President Trump's advisers are looking to "reframe" his coronavirus pandemic response, and they want to "convince Americans that they can live with the virus," with White House officials hoping "Americans will grow numb to the escalating death toll and learn to accept tens of thousands of new cases a day," The Washington Post reports. One senior administration official said Americans will have to "live with the virus being a threat," while a former official told the Post, "They're of the belief that people will get over it or if we stop highlighting it, the base will move on and the public will learn to accept 50,000 to 100,000 new cases a day."<<

(11,425 posts)Every frickin time I leave the house, I have to remember mask, wipes, think about where I am going and if its safe even with a mask on.
Every time someone passes close to me in a store, out walking and I can't get away fast enough, I am almost holding my breath until they go by.
Every time I forget and accidentally touch something in public anything, I immediately cringe and cuss if I don't have my wipes on me.
Everytime I forget while out and wipe my eyes before I wash my hands I think this is hard can I do this all year? And more...
I feel lucky there is not a lot of cases in my area because I feel like I am not perfect enough.
And he thinks we will get over it! If only! I don't risk my life to forget it.

(11,884 posts)And now claiming we should just live with it from his refusal to do anything to stop the spreading, and actually going out of his way to spread it , shows we need a leader who is capable of stopping it , instead of promoting propaganda about it, and making it worse killing more people. trump and republicans policies with this virus have exposed them now as all total failures , then add trump and republicans are allowing putin to put bounties on our service members without consequences for killing Americans now. We should be careful now , they know the only way they'll keep power is to rig the Nov. election. As long as trump and pence are involved with this virus we'll see it spread more, and continue to worsen under them. When the CDC are put over it all with control of whats done the virus will be slowed and gotten under control. This is also why trumps desperately trying to distract away from this virus , and away from his knowing putin was targeting our service people and he did nothing to stop it. trump and republicans are losing their fight for re-election, and they just thought the mid terms was a disaster for them.
