(6,820 posts)Every web search. Every poll you take, opinion survey you fill out, product rating feedback you write and your perusal of any website IS observed by spyware. Every company whose business is to sell things wants to know what you want. There is a market for your desires, literally, knowledge of what you want or find interesting is valuable to someone seeking to sell you something. They pay out for it. Fractions of a penny per person multiplied by billions creates the living wage of MANY people.
What I'm saying is that the "ban" ship has long since sailed. You can't "ban" your way out of anything. Every regulation, when encoded, becomes a target for evasion. It's the book which escapes the bonfire that becomes everyone's favorite read. The old saying, "It's the exception that proves the rule", describes, perhaps, the most profound observation of human behavior since Genesis.

Any action taken by this administration is per se fascist and though the end result may be the same, the impetus is certainly not.

What concerns me are the saved passwords we all have on our phones and biometric data like fingerprints used to authenticate into various apps.
