My RW BIL has put Confederate flag wallpaper on his phone

when I pressed him about it, he only said, "if they keep pushing us, they're going to wish they hadn't," and refused to elaborate further. This is a guy who never, ever talks about politics or social issues. I only know what he thinks because I know him pretty well. It makes me wonder how many others are out there not saying much but quietly being radicalized, and how much we should worry about it.

Not funny ha ha, but funny curious, of course.

They don't seem to realize that millions of people are tired of having that bullshit forced on us.

I'm tired of hearing that I'm supposed to "respect" someone who holds an untenable position vis-a-vis racism and authoritarianism, not to mention science and social justice. Those times are dwindling, TBS.

If your BIL wants to defend slavery by having that disgusting pos flag on his phone, why are you telling us that crap?

if a person is susceptible to being radicalized, it’s gonna happen one way or another. In this case, it’s the fucking confederate flag. It’s like saying someone was driven to madness. In many cases, it’s not much of a trip.

They might, sometime later, seem to come around, but most of the time, in reality, they will be susceptible again, to the next bigoted movement that comes along. I know from experience that they routinely fall for the same kinds of tactics repeatedly. I've known far more people who have repeatedly fallen for it than those who turn over a new leaf.

They should be treated as such. The South shall NOT rise again. Their flag belongs in a museum next to the Nazi flag.

I don't think it is the majority of Americans, not by far, but it is the majority of the electoral college, which should have been replaced or repaired by now. If we continue to ignore that, our lives are only going to get more miserable as time goes on.

The electoral college combined with Republican cheating is going to mess us up in November, if we don't find ways to ensure our right to vote. They ARE going to cheat and they ARE going to try to stop our votes from counting. You can tell they have lots of plans to do so by how much Trump is projecting. It is almost as if anything specific he mentions, we should go straight to that and start watching them like a hawk. Republicans got caught cheating in NC and got away with it without so much as a slap on the wrist. They got to change horses midstream as a reward for getting caught cheating.

My fundie relations have been promising me the second coming of Christ for longer than that. It’s just boredom. Some people need drama to compensate for the tedious irrelevance of their own lives. They’re not going to do ANYTHING.

I've known some of them and they don't have the balls to really do anything like standing up and fighting the National Guard. They want to carry guns and.maybe scare some people.

of a human being he is? Yes. Does it mean that I'll (or anyone else for that matter) ever answer a call / text from the POS? No.

Does it mean that I or anyone that I know of in my immediate group of friends or family will ever deal w/ the POS? No.

The guy (along w/ others if they're becoming like him) need to grow up and come crawling out of their Mommy's basement, and act like decent human beings. I'm not going to waste any more time on scumbags like this and I hope no one else does either. I'm getting tired of pandering to someone's fragile ego and Mommy issues.

There are more important issues to deal w/, then dealing w/ someone who has an identity issue, still living in their Mommy's basement, and still wanting Mommy to change their diaper.

Racism is a deep seeded long held idealogy. He/they have been that way for a long long time.
They simply have not been open about it because they know it was unacceptable, right up to the minute that trump gave them permission to act it out.
