When you're acting out in public (and don't deny it, you know you do) and someone's pointing their cell phone at you, they're video-recording you. You will not come out of it looking good. You just won't. Even if you think you're totally right, you won't come out looking good. The reason someone's pointing their cell phone at you is because you're acting like a nitwit (hence my salutation). Long ago, the Bible queried, "Can a leopard change its spots?" Updated to today, Jeremiah might wonder "Can a nitwit stop nitwitting?"

When you see the cell phone come out, stop nitwitting. Really. You're being a nitwit, and you will be identified. Shut up. Walk away. Cause the recording to stop.

I'm saying this not because I think you're capable of reining yourself in, but basically to make me feel better. When you lose your job or you are the target of online abuse or people come up to you in public and give you shit for being a nitwit, I can take comfort in saying, "I fucking told you so, you nitwit."

I'm glad to hear that this bullying punk got fired! I'd be willing to bet any money he is a MAGA moron. And how "manly" of him to threaten an elderly woman just because she asked him to wear a mask. His "I feel threatened" BS was his way of covering his ass if he decided to punch or shoot her. (Which is why that idiotic "stand your ground" law needs to be changed.) Of course he would have a hard time convincing a jury that he felt threatened due to the fact that HE was walking towards HER and she was an elderly women.
As an aside, what is with these morons who KNOW they are being videoed but yet keep acting like jerks? Do they not know that their actions have consequences? You know, like job loss and becoming a public pariah?

has exposed so many people who are either mentally ill or just plain godawful human beings. And so many of these videos show upper middle class/wealthy successful white people at the snapping point--over what? Wearing fabric over nose and mouth? Acknowledging that black people are often treated unfairly by cops? Why is this making otherwise-functional, successful white people go apeshit all over America? This clown, the Crazy Target Karen, the San Francisco beauty product CEO, the cyclist dude in VA...they were all apparently on the cliff-edge of sanity and reason, despite all their money and achievements and comforts. It's really interesting, in a way.

30. New and frightening tactics on the right
Tue Jul 7, 2020, 04:02 PM
Jul 2020

Tactics being cultivated on right wing web sites and forums now is for whites to shout certain words or phrases like "you're threatening me" and "gun" when they get into conflicts with people in public. In the event there are no cameras running, they can plausibly claim that they were being threatened or that they saw a gun. These claims would be corroborated by witnesses nearby who will tell cops they believed the Karen was in danger based on what they heard being shouted. It's very psychological.

The right goes lower and lower every day in this country.

The OP title does not seem to match the story at all. But maybe I’m confused because I’m an old lady myself.

So, for the first (but not last) time, I am joining those who object to “Karen” as an all-purpose slap. It would have more impact and be less offensive in itself if we simply tagged people behaving badly by their location or relevant activity. Costco Connie. BBQ Becky. Dog-walker Dora or Off-Leash Lizzy. Lemonade Lucy.

It has never been a gender-neutral term. Some folks are now saying it is because they know it's exist AF.

Insulting a man by calling him a woman's name? And that's gender neutral and not sexist as hell???
