GOP Congressman's Argument Against Mandated Masks, Vaccinations Goes Awry

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) got schooled on Twitter after he argued against mandated face masks and compulsory vaccinations aimed at mitigating the spread of the coronavirus:

Many tweeters reminded Massie of President George Washington’s decision to inoculate the Continental Army against smallpox.

Others called out the GOP congressman for appearing to rail against wearing masks, which public health experts worldwide have said is a relatively inexpensive and easy way to curb COVID-19.

I had Golabki (they pronounced as gaw-whum-kee) many a time at their house!

Sometime back I was thinking about this friend and the Polish food they made, and found a youtube cook (American) that made them. At the end of the video she said something like 'Are these the best Golabki? You bet your dupa!' Made me laugh.

How about Chruschiki? We made those for Christmas. I've forgotten so many now, it's been over 50yrs!

....if you are a woman. This is because most people want you to do so. A government mandate that you wear a mask should be seen for what it is, just another thing that we do for the benefit of others.

anywhere a man can be (obviously not in a store that posts, “no shirt, no shoes, no service”) in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Also, women can breastfeed anywhere, no matter what other people want you to do (but we’re not going down THAT rabbit hole here!)

I do of course understand your point

Typhoid was called the "soldier's disease".

Mandatory vaccinations in the military is principle reason the casualty rate from disease dropped so dramatically during the 20th century.

Until vaccines started coming on line, infectious diseases were the leading cause of death. When the polio vacc came available my mother went Warp 9 getting me to the doctor.

Hubby and I both putting 20 years in the Air Force. We and everyone else were walking dart boards and cocktails of vacc juice. If you were sent to the Middle East, Africa or Southeast Asia, you count on sore arm(s) and/or butt on your way out the door. Hubby still gets the middle distance stare about the butt load he got on his way to Vietnam. Then there was the occasional booster and the annual flu.

So yeah, by leaving the police powers to the states via the 10th Amendment and Article I limiting the powers of the Federal government, the Constitution actually did authorize the government to stick a needle in you against your will.

None of the signers of the Declaration owned cars either, nor did they own TV sets. In fact, they were as ignorant as a Republican when it came to understanding the germ theory of disease, but it's OK, their ignorance was not deliberate.
