He was an actor, B grade at best.

He was good at reading scripts. I seriously doubt he was the originator of the policies or speeches. He was a front man.

He was endearing to the people because of his acting career. Ahnold was Reagan 2.0, not so endearing, a lot more kick ass. Times and tastes change. The GOP saw the success of Reagan and upped the machismo factor to try the same with Schwarzenegger. The wanted to project strength. Who better than the Terminator.

Reagan was a bought and paid for sock puppet, first as governor of California, for the purpose of beginning the complete take over of the GOP, which has since metastasized into the fascists and supremacists currently making up the GOP core, resulting in the turd currently floating in the White House toilet bowl.

While he was an actor he was president of the Screen Actors Guild, which is essentially a union. But one of his FIRST acts of making his mark as president was to begin the war on unions, targeting the Air Traffic controllers. The union movement has yet to recover.

But Reagan was the beginning of the end. Of which we are rapidly approaching the final conclusion (yes, I know that is redundant).

It IS a great ad, and I eagerly accept using his words to help bring down the turd.

The republicans learned a lesson. Put up a sock puppet they could control. George Bush numbers 1 drove the lesson home. He was awful hit no idiot. And they wanted someone they could control more. They found their perfect President with Bush 2. They thought they had it in trump but he may bring them all down.
