It is staggering to me that....

not a single pro sport in the US has been able to successfully keep Covid out with all their resources and desire to protect the investment made in their players and yet we're talking about in-person school like somehow that will magically fare better.

1. And with MILLIONS at their disposal to "get it right"

they still haven't figured out how to make it safe. Yet, parents are expected to send their children into the petri dish that is a school room. And teachers are EXPECTED to teach, facing the possibility of death. Of course, they are used to that from mass shooters, so what the hell, right?

4. Interesting............

perhaps that's what they'll proclaim if we start seeing crazy "COVID" numbers if kid do have to go back to school:

(Sad, droopy-eyed old white Republican who represents a certain reptilian faction):

"It's too soon to talk about those numbers while we deal with these terrible numbers that we are seeing because of the Democrat demand that we get on with our learnin'".......

3. I know....this is just going to be disastrous........we think the upsurge in numbers now

is bad.......August, September, and October IS GOING TO BE JUST HORRIBLE. This push to get back to school is worse then trying to reopen the economy. I say they’re using our kids as guinea pigs......

8. Writhing around in a big pile of sweaty, grunting bodies has a few downsides

Well I guess I could have phrased that better.

9. Reopening schools anytime soon could be the worst idea yet.

They will be overrun with sickness fairly quickly.

Disaster approaches.

12. The NBA has a pretty good plan, but even so, they think it will not be possible.....

I completely agree with the OP......With all of the money involved and at stake, and with quality leaders like Adam Silver, they are struggling greatly for a solution.
