SF Mayor London Breed awaiting test results after being exposed to coronavirus

San Francisco Mayor London Breed was awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test late Wednesday after public health officials informed her she had been exposed to the coronavirus and there was a moderate risk that she had been infected.

Breed will halt her public appearances for the next 10 days, but is not required to isolate at home, according to public health guidelines for anyone exposed to a moderate risk of infection.

She is currently exhibiting no symptoms.

City officials are withholding most details of the nature of her exposure, citing privacy concerns. But Breed was recently a part of a public event attended by a few dozen people who called for justice on behalf of 6-year-old Jace Young, who was shot and killed in the Bayview on July 4.
