If we were relying on today's SC decision to tip the scales in our favor this fall

then no doubt this could be considered a loss, in that it seems unlikely that the public will get to see Trump's tax returns before the election.

HOWEVER, at this time, we're hardly relying on the tax returns to shift public opinion. Trump is already sinking nationally, in the battleground states, and even in red states like Texas and Alaska. Republicans are abandoning him. He's doing nothing that looks like he's going to be able to turn his campaign around, instead doubling down on racism, incompetence, and failure.

So while it certainly wouldn't have hurt to have people going over his tax returns for the next four months, I really don't think we need to worry too much about the political ramifications here.

On every other level, this is terrible news for Trump. The investigations can continue, and he's not immune from criminal prosecution. The NY DA is going to get his financial records. Trump's hope today was that the Supreme Court was going to make all his problems go away, and they certainly did not do that for him. On a personal level, he is in deep shit, and he knows it.

So if he spends the next four months having a breakdown over this, fine with me. The more time he spends worrying about his personal future, the more insane tweets he's going to fire off, and the less time he's going to spend thinking about how to turn his electoral chances around.

Sucks to be Donnie!

Today he is a loser. That will be the media reports. He is not above the law.

Becoming president shined too bright a light on him.

He possibly could have slid under the radar for life if he didn’t let his ego get in the way.

Still think the 2016 campaign was a publicity stunt that went out of control and didn’t turn out the way he hoped. I maintain he was shell shocked during transition and first months in office. He didn’t realize what power, responsibility or accountability he had gotten himself into.

Be careful what you wish for!

But he has no choice to try to run out the clock and come up with individual objections to his records being used against him. That won't be a good look.

And if it leads to prosecution after he's president, that's still good.

Even with a possible pardon by Pence if Trump were to resign before the Election, Trump is not protected against State charges for Tax Fraud and other fraud charges that might apply.

Trump's life will never be the same from this day onward.

are probably dissapointed that the chances of the being made public still seem slim to none,

but, the talking points are now there for the taking,

you've hid behind the "under audit" for so long, the Supreme Court essentially said so what?

Your bogus argument that the President has absolute immunity has been ruled as bs,

It's not the actual numbers that are on the documents, it's now the process of how those numbers got there and what tax rules and other rules you broke to there.

I'd rather be able to beat him and his supporters over the head with "What is he HIDING?" than to get bogged down in arguments and analysis over whether the entry on line 74 of his Schedule A was accurate.

His enablers would have obfuscated and confused the issue and tried to twist us all around the axle. Now, they can't do that. All they have to deal with is a president who got smacked down by an overwhelming majority on the Supreme Court, a prosecutor and grand jury who are about to get their hands on documents he's been fighting tooth and nail not to turn over and lots and lots of opportunities for us to keep asking, "What is this man so afraid of?"

Honest Donald Trump has fought all the way to the Supreme Court to try to prevent prosecutors from getting their hands on his financial records. If that's not the behavior of an innocent man, I don't know what is.

Meanwhile Corrupt Joe Biden has completely transparently released 20+ years of his tax returns. Lock him up!

was the one sent back to the lower courts ...separation of powers issues. I always thought that would end up this way. And since those outraged by these decisions can clearly see that Trump judges ruled against him...the 'Trump puts great judges on the courts so vote for him is dead'. K&R
