Why can't Congress see Trump's financial records before the election?

We have gone thru one election without this information. Why should we have to go thru another?

It's 4 months until election. That seems like plenty enough time to study and rule on the case?

Can there be another appeal?

where the court kind of rules, but then kicks it back to the lower court and says "argue about it for another year, then get back to us".

The election commissioners could ask for his taxes to run again. But trump may have packed it with his people.

This is a separate investigation.

Or are you referring to FEC (which, yes, is now neutered)?

Even if Congress got the records today, they're only part of an ongoing investigation which wouldn't conclude before the election anyhow (remember that Congress will be in recess for all of August and its members will be busy with their own campaigns after that). And the public might never get to see them at all. This will have no effect at all on the election, and wouldn't even if the docs were available immediately, except that it's another loss for His Lardship.

Even if he thinks he has won.

That solidifies just how CORRUPT Trump is and his abuse of the office of the Presidency.

That's the ugly truth.

They don't want Americans to know the foul truth about how they have lied and cheated.

Pretty simple actually.

Court has to decide if relevant to request first. Not likely, but possible.

the 5 traitors were not going to do anything.

Congress MUST be given the taxes, period, end of story, that is the law and they have given NO reason not to give them.

Congress has no time to start a major investigation, which would mean more battles to actually see the stuff the Supremes have said they can't see yet.

Convention time is upon us and everyone's starting their own re-election campaigns or otherwise occupied.

Now, if someone actually manages to leak, legally or otherwise, much of the relevant paperwork, that could be fun. That's how the Times got all that good stuff from Mary.

We now have a Imperial President, like it or not, this is the result of Single Issue Voting over a four decade time frame.

Comey should feel real Proud today!!!!
