Said Fauci: “What we are seeing is exponential growth. It went from an average of about 20,000 to 40,000 and 50,000. That’s doubling. If you continue doubling, two times 50 is 100… Any state that is having a serious problem, that state should seriously look at shutting down.”

14. I know this isn't a popular opinion but Fauci and CDC really screwed up

In the beginning when they told everyone masks weren’t necessary. Fauci admitted that they made this statement because they were worried that health personnel needed the masks and we already had a shortage.

I get that, I really do, but I think that thinking was ultimately wrong. It created a lot of confusion when CDC did a 180, and also created some cracks in the CDC credibility.

CDC did something similar during the very beginning of the AIDS crisis when they knew (or at least very strongly suspected) that AIDS could be transmitted via blood transfusions. Instead of telling the public immediately they hid that information out of concerns for public hysteria, political backlash, etc. Look how many lives that overly cautious approach cost.

The public can be incredibly stupid, I get that, but maybe they should have gone ahead and trusted the public with the truth in the very beginning.

Every time I hear from Fauci I wonder if he’s telling the whole truth.
