I wanted to float this old recommended OP about Unclaimed Property back to the surface.

My co-worker today found a windfall of around $3500 out of nowhere.
Some law firm had been sending him some scam-sounding letters about reclaiming some money. He knows me to be a cynical old bastard, so he asked my opinion. I told him it could be legit and he didn't need some random law firm to take 10% of it.
Within minutes, he had claimed the money.
Worth a shot.
