Yet another Karen video has emerged on social media, this time showing a woman harassing a Black man for the simple act of sitting in car in front of his own house.
Didnt think this would happen to me, the man says as the video starts. In the background, the clearly agitated woman says shes taking down his license plate and that shes already called police.
The man then explains that hes at his house, to which the woman responds while standing on his doorstep, Why dont you come into your f*cking house?
No problem, the man replies.
He then proceeds to walk past her, open his door, and walk into his house.

(18,672 posts)But women have been doing this for a long time. I remember what happened to Emmet Till. There has to be some sort of psychology behind this. Maybe someone who feels powerless using racism to feel powerful? It's shameful and we as a society should not allow racists of any gender any quarter. Racism is evil.

(6,145 posts)I posted something on Facebook about women who do this, and several women leapt to their defense. I was truly blown away. One woman called me a racist. The term I used was "lying, manipulative, racist, white woman". Maybe I'm missing something...
At any rate, one woman said that Emmett Till was a fictional character in a book written by Crispus Attucks.
Another said that if the woman who accused Till of assault had had her own personal power instead of having to rely on men, then things would have been different.
Another said that I shouldn't blame the woman since it was the men who did the killing.

Based on this from average white women friends of an EXTREMELY liberal, well educated friend of mine, I think we have a long way to go before we get these white women to stop their lying, manipulative, racist behavior.

(5,927 posts)So the black man who was killed in the Boston Massacre in 1770 wrote a novel about 20th-Century Emmett Till?
There is no hope left for my race. It is drowning in its own hubris and ignorance, while spitefully fighting off the lifeguards.

I'm sure she thought she was showing off her knowledge.
I had a history teacher in Catholic school who was so impressed with Frederick Douglass because he couldn't read or write.

(42,862 posts)Typical Karen... not sure why people are defending this type of behavior by... scolding the ones who call it out as being socially unacceptable.
But the fact is, if someone is labeling you "Karen," that means you've done something to warrant that label. You're not just sitting there minding your own business. And generally it means that you've stepped into something--into somebody else's business--that you have no business stepping into.
And you've made a spectacle of yourself based on some degree of privilege that you believe that you have. If that applies to you, KAREN, then that applies to you! If it doesn't apply to you, then just let it fly! Why people want to...when people are like "oh, it's the new n-word"... ARE YOU SERIOUS, KAREN?! That is a Karen! Okay?

I think, if I was that guy, I'd at least pursue it.
If he got her charged, she'd definitely learn he lived there.

(5,927 posts)So what if he were sitting in his car on the other side of town from his house? I can go sit in my car on the other side of town, and no one bothers me, challenges me, tries to make me prove I live in the neighborhood where I'm sitting, or calls the cops on me.
