Sending kids back to school...

Big problem... good arguments on both sides.

But. If you've ever taught, you know the classrooms are petrie dishes.

One of my former students made this observation to me on FB:

"If the schools can't control lice in a school... how can they control Covid?"

Good point.

My niece is required like all the rest. Thankfully Indiana has been well (at least compared to most states) in the coronavirus area.

I’m scared to keep him home because distance learning was a shit show for high school kids in my community. There’s no good solution.

I know a lot of teachers and they are not happy that the general public seems to think that their lives are expendable.

I post in a local mom group and there are a lot of SAHM moms who are actively fighting - and they have large numbers - our districts about school in the Fall. They want full time school for all students NO MASKS for students or staff (because it's too scary for the kids). These are admitted stay at home moms, so it's not an issue of work. It's an issue of getting the kids out of the house (some have said that).

Who are we to demand ANYONE to put themselves at high risk for their job?
