According to the MSNBC host, its possible for investigators to fast-track the process, which opens up the possibility of resolving the fight over the presidents financial documents before the November election.
They might try to go faster, if they want to, Maddow said. They could file a motion to accelerate the entry of this Supreme Court opinion into the docket to try to get that trip to the lower courts fast-tracked to start the fight over the subpoena, which shouldnt take forever to resolve.

"In 2010, Ivanka and Don Jr were nearly indicted for felony fraud. The district attorney who dropped the case -- after a hefty donation from Trump's lawyer -- was Cy Vance.
SCOTUS ruled that Vance, not Congress, can access Trump's tax returns."

(26,727 posts)If you look at the remaining lines of defense that they explicitly left Trump at the end of the ruling... his case would only be strengthened by a prosecutor that tries to accelerate the process in this way.
The ruling probably means that any NY crime evidenced by his tax documents will eventually come to be know... but the chances of it happening before the election is virtually zero.
