'I am gonna blow your head off!' CEO of energy company pulls a gun on a Hispanic man and his girlfriend who accidentally drove into his private estate

Paul Favret, CEO of Resource Energy, allegedly held Chris Ochoa, 26, and his girlfriend at gunpoint after they drove into Elk Ridge Estates in Colorado
The young couple took a wrong turn and ended up in the wealthy neighborhood on June 12 when looking for a friend's wedding venue
Favret allegedly chased them and blocked them off in the road before pointing his firearm and yelling 'I want to blow your f***** head off'
The energy boss initially denied drawing his firearm to cops but then changed his story saying he couldn't remember because he was on pain medication
Ochoa said the incident left him so fearful that he did not attend the wedding
Hispanic Ochoa believes the attack was racially motivated
The DCSO has filed five criminal charges against Favret over the incident including two felony menacing and three misdemeanor charges
Ochoa broke his silence over the incident in a shocking Facebook post on June 28, detailing the terrifying events alongside images taken by his girlfriend of an armed Favret standing in front of their car.
He said he and his girlfriend had driven into the driveway of Favret's home that afternoon after their GPS directed them there when they were looking for a friend's wedding venue in the area.
When they didn't recognize the other cars on the drive and realized they must be in the wrong place, Ochoa said they did a u-turn and left the property.
Favret gave chase in a large red truck and blocked the couple off in the main road, he said.
The energy boss then allegedly got out of his vehicle and pointed a firearm at them.
Ochoa said Favret then ran to his driver's side window which was down and continued to point the gun at him, yelling he 'wants to blow my head off!'
The terrified couple - with 'our hands up' - repeatedly apologized and tried to explain it was an honest mistake, but the enraged man would not listen, he said.
Ochoa wrote that his girlfriend managed to call 911 'because we felt in danger as he kept pointing the gun at our faces and continued to tell us how much he wanted to kill us.'

(7,947 posts)Good grief. The mere presence of people on his driveway doesn't give him the right to shoot someone!
How many times have we realized we're headed the wrong way and pulled into a driveway to turn around, or to peer at the house numbers over the porch to try to figure out which way we should turn?
He doesn't get to shoot someone who just accidentally is on his property for a moment.
We have really, really departed from normality. 99% of people aren't trying to hurt anyone, and it makes far more sense to assume there's no threat here.

(7,947 posts)But I live on a dead-end street that shouldn't be dead end.
So every day, some driver comes down my street and stops in dismay at the blocked road which ought to go through and connect with the major road 200 yards south. (It doesn't help that Google Maps has the road going through the swamp in between.)
Here's the NORMAL way to deal with lost drivers who stop in confusion in front of your house.
Stroll out across your yard WITHOUT A GUN.
Wave at the driver.
Yell, "Hey, you guys lost?"
Then give directions. "The road doesn't go through. You got to back up, turn east there on that street, drive two blocks. There's a four-way stop. Turn right. You'll hit Major Street in a couple minutes. Good luck!"
Smile hard and point.
Be a good neighbor.
Assume lost drivers of any color are just LOST and need a bit of help, not assault.
Some people have learned from Trump how not to be normal humans with smiles and warmth.

Hmm. Has he, like his bio page on his company website, been removed????
I wonder when these people are going to realize that this sort of untrammeled racist almost-violence will get them fired.

(14,818 posts)...own property, and go after them!???!!!??
They were NO LONGER on your property!
Problem SOLVED! Ugghhhh. 🤬🤬😥
Such Malevolent Entitlement!!!!
That poor couple! I guess they might be too afraid to do something directly?
Maybe some good, legally savy group can? Though that still might be too anxiety provoking for them. Sigh.

If you want, you can look at this community on Google Maps.
Elk Canyon Place, off Hwy 105/N Perry Park Rd., south of Sedalia CO.
It's a PUBLIC loop road lined with McMansions. There's 1 for sale for 1.5 million. It's not THAT fancy.
