He can contest it all he wants, there isn't going to be a recourse for him to do anything about it. 60% of the country won't believe anything he says anyway, enough elected Rs will be secretly happy to see him go and won't support him in it, the Chief Justice Roberts wouldn't go along with it, so a court challenge would end up no worse than 5-4 against.
