(38,601 posts)We have a dishwasher coming July 30 allegedly (resked from July 6, claiming none in stock and manufacturer does not have).
I hope they mask up. We have masks for them if needed.
PS sucks not having a dishwasher

Crews like that and other working people face the most exposure to covid while the more fortunate and richer of us can afford to shelter in relative safety while the less fortunate provide us with essential services.

(16,950 posts)couple weeks ago. The one time we had to go to the laundromat while waiting for new machines really creeped us out. No way I wanted to go through that, so the crew coming in was a better choice. They were masked, in and out fast.
Then there was the water heater that went out in May. At least my husband was able to do most of that, thankfully.
The Home Depot contractor we contacted for an estimate really screwed us over. They wouldnt give an estimate over the phone, so my husband took 4 hours of unpaid leave to meet him. Then the guy called us on his way over anyway and gave us a phone estimate, which we rejected immediately. So we were out 4 hours of pay just to get a ridiculous estimate we would have rejected immediately over the phone. We werent happy with Home Depot, but they had the only sized heater we needed right away. We had to rent a truck to get it in the house. Our neighbor helped with that, thank goodness he and his wife are very safe, too. Amazing those two major appliances went out at the same time during this pandemic!
Enjoy your new dishwasher!
