How many doctors, nurses, hospital workers, nursing home workers are going to vote for Trump?

i bet many of them did in 2016, not this time. That's a lot of lost votes. The same goes for veterans. Many voted for Trump in 2016 and many of them will not vote for him again.

How many farmers voted for Trump in 2016? Many of them will not vote for Trump again.

Many women who voted for Trump in 2016 have turned on him.

How many people who voted for Trump and have lost a loved one to the virus are going to vote for him again? Not many.

You don't have to trust the polls to see Trump has lost many voters and he cannot replace them. You don't have to trust the polls to see Trump is going to get his ass kicked this November.

"Pay attention to what THEY DO."

What someone says is one thing. What they DO is the point we must focus on. Words are empty if there is no ACTION to back them up. No TRUST of the person who utters them. Donald Trump has BETRAYED every voter he conned in 2016. They have woken up, finally!

They're mostly single issue voters. I see them in scrubs and a Trump mask at the gas station, if they wear a mask at all.

some have been forced to rethink that. Fact that many still support trump and his beliefs is disappointing, at best.

For some (I would say, sadly so), that is why they chose their careers to begin with.

The Trump tax changes threw crumbs at working class families but showered high-income people with tax savings. Some people just can't see past that.

6,000 years ago. I know several just like Broun (from Athens).

And a lot of them are as racist as some uneducated guy out of the backwoods of Appalachia. Point is, I don't think income is the main motivator.

I live near Athens. Paul Broun used to be my Representative.

He's nutty as a fruitcake; but even with people like him, it becomes a whole lot easier to believe ridiculous bullshit when it "saves" you tens of thousands of dollars a year in taxes to do so (and actually helps win you votes in your district). Also, the country rubes will hold you up as a "Godly" sort of man. (Well, except for a few rubes like me )

but racism and other GOPer beliefs are the main reason he and other physicians support these MFers.

Plus, the electorate in our rube/red state are still attracted to racists, particularly in NE Georgia. I figured you were from Athens/UGA, that's why I used Broun as an example.

I work in a financial field, so I deal with people like this fairly often. I don't deny the prevalence of racism.

But the rich racists tend to care much more about their money than they do about the racism. For the poor white man, being "white" is all he's got. He'll die on that hill.

But the rich racist will vote to protect his money. If Democrats were proposing large upper-income tax cuts, they would be all in. They might hold their noses, but most of them would switch their votes. For them, it's all about their bottom line.

At least, that has been my experience.

most of the high-income people I work with have never said or done anything around me that woud indicate that they were racist. Considering the area, a shockingly high percentage of them are Democrats.

It's ususally the smaller, working-class, clients who make the racist or misogynist remarks.

the Medical Association of Georgia.

GSMA is basically a society of Black physicians. While many participate with the larger MAG, there was, and still is to some degree, a long history of racism among white physicians. In fact, for many years MAG wouldn’t even accept Blacks as members. When that changed, MAG still often failed to care about Black physicians’ needs.

Income has something to do with it, in that Black physicians are much more supportive of Medicare and universal coverage, even though their incomes would likely be less. But for racist, white docs it’s income and not wanting to be told who to treat, etc.

In any event, I think we pretty much support the same things

exceptions. The most brilliant -- and highly educated person -- I ever worked with was a flaming racist. I was shocked honestly, and got to where I wouldn't deal with him.

There are exceptions the other way too. There are plenty of people who aren't that highly educated in the traditional sense, who care/accept about everyone.

Is most of the doctors that my wife and I visit display their conservative credentials openly. They vote their pocketbook. God help them if they had to pay the same kind of taxes that their patients do. A lot of doctors and lawyers invest is such lucrative business as pay day loan companies where the working poor are skinned alive in attempts to make ends meet.

... assuming that reason will win out over irrational motives like racism and sexism. My wife works in a nursing home in a very red (and poor) rural county in southern Illinois. Her coworkers are all racist rednecks despite all being educated therapists some with doctorate degrees. They are in full fledged denial and rationalization for every stupid and traitorous Trump statement and action. I don't expect such people to change their stripes after everything they've ridden out for 4 years. Unfortunately most of them are racists first and health care professionals second.

Nurses, Docs and hospital workers will flip their vote. Maybe slightly more.

it happens my primary customer is a hospital system.

While we don't talk politics much, we do sometimes. I've yet to have one admit it was a mistake voting for Trump.

But some probably do privately.
