30yo COVID party attendee's deathbed confess: "I think I made a mistake. I thought this was a hoax."

Dan Diamond @ddiamond

A sad, shocking story from the chief medical officer of San Antonio’s Methodist Hospital: A 30-year-old who attended a “Covid party” and then made a deathbed confession to the nurse. “I think I made a mistake. I thought this was a hoax.”

the news few watch anyway. As more of these stories spread personally and through social media around the globe, DU will be only one minuscule point among hundreds of millions they pass through.

Be the spread we want others to be.

It is tragic, that young man had just begun his life. The republican/fascist party and their enablers and media organs have OCEANS of blood on their hands.

I too feel bad, and a bit callous when my gut reactions are mostly harsh.

"They asked for it."
"There goes one more rump supporter who would have voted for him. Divine justice."
"If a lot of idiots get killed off, the human race will be better for it (the US too)"

I know that those who have died during the early stages were tragic and preventable deaths.
But as we've learned more and more about the virus, many (smart/informed) people have realized there are measures we can, should and do take to protect ourselves and others.

The stupid, misguided folks who don't embrace or follow these measures are contracting and spreading it. Covid party attendees especially deserve to suffer the consequences.

Having said that, I do have an iota of sympathy for them, but not much more. I know a nice young man, 33, a father, who rebels against the idea of masks. He would not attend a covid party, but could certainly catch it as many young folks do, going about their life without masks or concern.
I'd be very sad if he got sick and or died, because I know him. The only person I know that balks at wearing a mask. That gives me my iota of sympathy.

That stupid cheating psychopath has so much blood on his hands but in the end something missing in Trumpster’s brains is the cause.

No, I'm not going to pile on this dumbass. His president told him it was a hoax, and he never turned the channel from Fox News to CNN just to be sure, or picked up a newspaper. There are a lot of people just like this. Just *sigh*

What is also missing is the lasting effects this virus has on the human body even if it doesn't kill. We are still learning its effects, immunity questions, infectious rate etc.etc.

Unfortunately many people find it easier to accept what they want to hear. If one accepts what is real, one is faced with real problems that need to be dealt with.

I have a daughter who lives in la la land and is sure everything will turn out alright without doing anything about it. She doesn't want to think bad things or bad outcomes. By the way, she gets this from her father not me.

oh well if one follows the devil, there are the devil's dues to pay. And how many shall we not hear from the Oklahoma rally, we do know the numbers have spiked because one infected person infects 7-8 more. Florida COVID parties, all because this POTUS says his virus and it numbers are a hoax? How many shall die? From the murderous, criminal incompetence of this POTUS?

Sadly, some people are hardwired to only learn things the hard way. With the Covid-19 pandemic, the consequences will continue to be tragic.
