Emails were intercepted and we have learned that the Karens are trying to organize and expand support for their cause. They are reaching out to other aggrieved individuals who they believe share their concern with the trend of using names to describe insufferable human behavior or to identify destructive objects or singular disastrous events that deserve their own historical marker.
Based on the exchanges, the response is a mixed bag.
So far, the only ones who have responded favorably are the Cassandras, but no one seems to listen.
More common were the negative comments. The response from the Bettys, whose names were connected to the German S-Mine that bounced and maimed our infantrymen, hence, Bouncing Bettys, were a surprise. Conservative in their stance, they were averse to the cancel-culture movement and said that they were willing to tolerate their footnote in history because, afterall, it was the Allied forces who labeled them. Besides, if they rebelled against the negative reference to a Betty, then they would also have to reject the more positive reference of Betty, originating from the Eternal American Tomes also known as the Archie comics.
They felt that Betty was the wholesome girl next door, with strong virtuous qualities, not too bookish, and therefore non-threatening until the sixties, when the youth revolution steered Betty away from her wholesome roots. All things considering, they favored Betty, pining for Archie in that perpetual wait, like he was a soldier fighting in a distant land. When, really, it was a wait for him to burn-out on the more affluent, selfish Veronica.
All things considering, they felt that Betty was a far more favorable image than the one assigned to Veronica or her cousins, whorish Jessicas and self-consumed Heathers.
The Veronicas, Jessicas and Heathers were too busy living their lives to comment.
Of the most negative comments, the strongest came from the Donnas and Camilles. Camille wrote that the Karens were just a gale storm in want of attention. Donnas response was more surprising. Breaking with a long-time feud with Camille, that began when Donna was rated as a category 4, while Camille attaining the acclaimed 5, Donna agreed with Camille, calling the Karens Moniker Moanas.
We are now talking to Julian Assange, Russia and China to see if we can bring you more developments from this on-going conversation.

One of my all time favorites was Erma Bombeck. Still waiting for her soul to reincarnate.

(53,776 posts)2. Good stuff. I like the sly Betty and Veronica references...
and the Donna and Camille meteorological ones.
