American Passports are Worthless Now

American Passports Are Worthless Now (Map)

America is not united anymore and it’s barely a state. They have crashed right through failed state into a plague state, unwelcome across the world. This has been predicted, including here. Now it has come to pass. Just look at the map.

Americans have gone from having access to most of the world to being banned from most of it. Today, Americans are only allowed in a few Caribbean islands and the Balkans. An American passport is now worthless. Worse than worthless, it’s a plague.

In the absence of a humane government, America is now ruled by COVID-19. Welcome to the Plague States of America.

It’s too late

I think it is difficult for Americans to understand that they are, to use an epidemiological term, completely fucked. COVID-19 could have been managed in January, or February, or even now, but not a full year later, in January 2021. Given than you need a functioning government to manage this pandemic, that’s the soonest Americans can get one.

...is, if Trump decides not to honor the results of an election he loses, and imposes a state of emergency to keep himself in power, those who might be targeted by him won't be able to flee the country.

There was always the option of fleeing the country if Trump was in for another four years, but now that is completely off the table. We almost literally have no place to run to. And who knows what things will look like in a few months from now. We are trapped here and unwelcome in the rest of the free world.

I don't know if their beaches are open but she went. She may be a spreader, who knows. I told her not to go. She didn't even have to tell me. It's not like I live by her and would have known. And then she had the nerve to post about it on facebook. I am so pissed I stopped following her. She lives in a major Southern city where there are climbing numbers.

7. At this point, Mrs GoS and I basically can't leave France. We have US passports and long stay visa's

here.

But we really can only travel in France. We might be able to drive to Italy, or Spain, or Germany, but flying anywhere? Not a chance.

We have friends in the UK, but that's not a trip that we will want to take until things quiet down there.

I'm not complaining. We made the decision to move here. And we love it.

Traveling back into the US is a complete non-starter, as neither of us have US based health insurance any longer.

Do you know CurtEastPoint? He and I met up in Strasbourg several years ago when we were there at the same time. He has been making at least one trip to France (from his home state of GA) for years now. Every day he posts on his FB page photos and descriptions of some little village in France. Small consolation that we can't get there now from the US, but at least we can dream! You should connect with him and he could give you some ideas for places in France you could visit now!

JonLP24, if everyone reacted to little personal reverses this way, the human race would have fucked itself out of existence before it existed. Seriously. I think if you try, you can handle this year without emotionally grabbing your ankles and waiting for the inevitable. Who knew TEOTWAWKI would turn out to be so comfortable and like the old one and that we would still have the same job to do?

Most passports from around the world are worthless. Not just those from the U.S. In Europe only 14 countries are allowed to travel to the EU countries. Which means about 186 countries are banned. Most countries around the world are not allowing ANY travel into their countries by ANYBODY.

I am somewhat of an exception, as a U.S. citizen with a German unrestricted residence permit, I can travel back and forth, and the German ID card has allowed me to travel freely within the Schengen countries. But outside of Schengen, there is little cross-border movement at all. My wife was only able to come to the USA at all because I knew how to navigate the bureaucratic minefield set up to prevent such movement.

*When we got to Boston, CBP asked me what countries I had been to in the last 14 days. I started listing them: Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, and he stopped me and said, whoa, stop, I said only the last 14 days! I said that WAS in the last 14 days! He just shook his head and said, Wow.
