lost due to infection, due to the non-mask wearing hoaxers and ignoramuses, the too-soon opening all over the country, the millions of infected people, the family members of this huge number of victims being impacted....
Every single life is more valuable, worth far more, than the life of the orange asshole ruining our country. And that is the sick irony.

(12,712 posts)Add to that an often overlooked statistic, (which will become more prominent over time) the thousands of people who have "recovered", but face long and short-term illness and disabilities.
Some people will be damaged for the rest of their lives, and that will affect the people around them as well, not to mention whatever costs will be incurred to them and society for care.
Brain damage, strokes, amputations, reduced lung capacity due to severe damage, kidney dialysis, relapses, etc. It looks like a long list.
We hear about the number of cases, recovery and mortality rates, but this category will also be very significant in the months and years to come.
That's a LOT of suffering for the individuals and their friends and families.
