If because this is an election year - isn't that why he is rushing to get the country re-opened?

The pressure is on him to win re-election. He thought he'd be able to run on a good economy. The pandemic crushed his plans. He's trying hard now to jump-start the economy - but Covid stops for no one.

Let's say that this pandemic hit 2 years ago and he knew he had two years to deal with the pandemic and turn the economy around - he would have had some breathing room. Would he have handled things differently?

bad are of no consequence to him. Death. Economic ruin. Societal upheaval. He’s good with all of it as long as it doesn’t impact him personally.

but failure. Look at his past multiple business debacles. He's been the luckiest, dumb MFer ever. Bankrupted several businesses. Squander the hundreds of millions of his father's fortune he swindled siblings out of. Had to go to Russia to borrow because American banks wouldn't lend him anymore money because his businesses failed and he couldn't pay them back.

And the cherry on top was that scripted reality TV show that depicted him as a highly successful business mogul—nothing but a lie but that fake image fooled many and they voted for him in 2016.

He's never been capable of anything but screwing up and owes the Russians billions which is why he won't dare challenge Putin.

A pandemic earlier would've just exposed his total ineptness earlier.

Except for polluting and cutting upper end tax rates, there has been no governing at all, just the 2020 campaign. It would have been the same claims of "hoax" to get it out of the news through wishful thinking instead of by action. He doesn't know how to play the long game where you need patience and stick to a well thought out plan. He just wants bad news off of TV today, reality be damned.
