They consider intelligence and education to be elitist, and they have no use for science. Trump prefers to hire his own stupid, easily manipulated goons rather than educated people who are tops in their fields.

Trump could just not stand it that Fauci's truths were believed over Trump's lies. Fauci was respected and Trump was laughed at.
