Trump's ex-chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says U.S. has 'inexcusable' problems with COVID-19 testing

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/07/13/mick-mulvaney-says-covid-testing-issues-inexcusable/5429248002/

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump's former acting chief of staff criticized the country's coronavirus testing on Monday and argued that any future relief package should focus on COVID itself as the "root cause" of the recession, rather than on remedies like stimulus checks.

"I know it isn’t popular to talk about in some Republican circles, but we still have a testing problem in this country," Mick Mulvaney, who is currently the U.S.' special envoy to Northern Ireland, wrote in an op-ed for CNBC.

Mulvaney described his family's efforts to get tested for the coronavirus, noting that they had to wait up to a week to receive his son's results, while being told his daughter didn't meet the criteria for receiving a test, even though she was planning on visiting her grandparents.

"That is simply inexcusable at this point in the pandemic," Mulvaney sa

Asked about Mulvaney's stance that testing was still an issue, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said at a news briefing that the U.S. is "doing a pretty good job" on testing.

I'm betting his wife and kids were pissed at the wait let alone the grandparents.

Remember when we said the shit hound would not escape the wrath of citizens as people got sick or died. It's worse than that - the forced family separations are just as bad.

If the virus only affected them I'd sit back with snacks and drinks but they're fucking up the entire planet.

The Con only took three plus years to turn the country into a shithole country. It's frightening.

Trump permits no veering from official propaganda spews.

Poor guy.

I'll provide the basket. Or would a pike be more appropriate? Just asking.

But Trump stuck his nose up at them, then took his ball of US covid infections, stomped off he World field and went home yanking US out of the WHO - and let the damn virus spread all over the US like wildfire while claiming "we're doing more testing than anyone".

Jesus Christ on a pogo stick. Ugh.

Like he's trying to beat the rush to stand up to trump even though of course he's going to get kicked out but that way he'll be good to go to get something in a Republican administration going forward, where as the rest will stay with Trump too long and be thrown out politically on their ass
