A whopping 71% of Americans -- 82% Ds & 53% Rs -- say having kids return to school risky

A whopping 71% of Americans — including 82% of Democrats and 53% of Republicans — say having kids return to school would be risky.

@realDonaldTrump
can’t spin his way out of this crisis.

Axios-Ipsos Poll...July 10-13
Why it matters: President Trump and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos have threatened to withhold federal funds from schools that don't reopen. The new findings suggest that this pressure campaign could backfire with many of the voters to whom Trump is trying to appeal ahead of the election.

This is not going to turn out well. Start stocking up. I have a feeling we are in for another lockdown in October.

smaller size class: 6ft between seats, everyone wears masks. Lunch room - tables have plexiglass dividers. As long as everyone maintains 6ft distance at all times and wear masks at all times except when consuming lunch. It is safer than working at Costco where you encounter hundreds of people from general public and different people everyday. In high school, it’s same people everyday, needs to be divided into groups that do not mix. Have short days and supplement via zoom. Students who do not follow rules should be dismissed to online education only.
I don’t believe in 100% online education for school age children. Schools need federal funds to make this happed as those modifications cost money.

To paraphrase, who wants their child to be the first to die in support of a lie?

the WH and from governors about the risks. But, seems like, the higher the office, the more they are trying not to scare everyone into hibernation...even if it means leaving info out of their speechifying.

I'd say it's encouraging the numbers are so high in that poll...it means people are doing their own research, listening to multiple sources, talking about it, and coming to some kind of conclusion about either the risk or about how much we don't know. Good for them.
