The White House has ordered hospitals to bypass the CDC with their COVID-19 reporting data. They want all the data sent to the WH. Correction: to HHS.
Gee, what could go wrong with that? Propaganda, anyone?

(64,026 posts)I messed up. The data is going to HHS so trump can blame "mistakes" on someone else.

(76,133 posts)And a bunch of states with large populations have governors who don't care one whit what PINO wants, or doesn't want.
They can try, but the numbers will get out.
The insurance companies get to know why they're sending cash to the providers & and why they're paying life insurance claims.
The numbers will get out.

BTW, the data will be sent to HHS. Might as well be the WH.

(76,133 posts)...per insiders I know, are already disputing the death numbers.
The payouts for unanticipated deaths exceed those assigned to COVID already.
The line of credit folks are twisted into pretzels trying to figure out how to lend money (short term) when the claims side needs that cash.
135,000 is too low, per actuaries I know, in 2 different companies.

(64,026 posts)Is this a data collection problem, or are people filing false claims? I would suspect the former vs the latter.

(76,133 posts)People with LI policies are dying from causes not expected in the actuarial models.
They tell me that they use a guesstimate of unanticipated deaths, just so such events are completely unbedgeted for cash flow.
The guestimates are embarrassingly low (no fault assigned, but these folks are dedicated & serious).
The number of LI claims are even higher than what can be assigned to COVID.
I can't say which companies, but I'm told 30,000 deaths, at least, that were not expected based upon prior years' data.
