Paranoia

My friend helped me get to a doctor appointment today for an ear infection as she has a car. I am very thankful for her help.

This is the second time she has claimed that people who take extra precautions to protect themselves from the corona virus, like being careful about cleaning off objects that could carry Covid 19 into the house and who are cautious, regarding it and stay in most of the time are paranoid.

That pissed me off.

I watch my ass because of my risk factors. Covid could actually kill me if I caught it.

She backpedaled when I told her that and said she was not talking about me.

Apparently
She's still entertaining conspiracy theories and doesn't recognize right wing bullshit in front of her face. She's back watching shit on utube believing in crap that feels right to her gut, rather than seeking actual facts. Because that requires intellectual rigor.

As we came in to the office, she sat down in the waiting area. The receptionist, asked her to leave the waiting room because of covid. They have a very small office.
My Friend thinks the receptionist who is black discriminated against her by asking she leave the office.

Yes it's hot outside and she says the receptionist didn't make eye contact with her when she was asked to wait in the hall or in her car.

She got irritated with the receptionist because she couldn't stay there in the office because of covid. On her way out she complained it was hot as hell outside, which it is.

At most I can maybe agree with her on is maybe the receptionist was rude. She wasn't discriminating against her personally though.

My Friend tried to convince me otherwise however.
I said she took a routine infection protocol and made it personal.

This "discrimination " is what launched my Friend into her "people are too scared and paranoid about covid" rant on the way home in the car.

If you ask me she's the paranoid and afraid one here worried about how other people handle the virus for themselves.

She's is the unreasonable one here, taking covid policy and making it a personal attack.

I blame
The right-wing and conspiracy crap she watches on utube making her paranoid and scared although I know full well she'll never admit to that.

She's projecting all over the place today . What she is watching is to blame for the shitty assumptions she made today. It influences her behavior and she is too defensive to see it let alone admit it.

I told her not to take it personal it's just the covid protocol.
But she insisted she was discriminated against. Because the receptionist didn't make eye contact with her and faked being busy.

I asked her what do you think led the receptionist to discriminate against you?

She couldn't come up with an answer on what exactly she was being discriminated against until she thought about it for a few minutes. Her claim it was because her mask had a skull on it.

Yeeeaaahh riiiiggght.

I was disgusted she would even try to bullshit me about discrimination like that.

She was mad at the covid rules because she would be sitting in her car, for what 20 minutes with the AC on being inconvenienced. She took covid protocol, and worked herself up into being offended ala' karen style.
Talking like one,but in a mild way just not acting it out.

If you ask me,she's the one who's scared and paranoid of covid. But in her desperation to have only positive thoughts and to look like she's so reasonable she won't ever admit she's being scared, paranoid,
controlling, resentful and fucking petty.

I get to see right-wing bullshit and conspiracy theories fucking with my Friend's mind and behavior in real time and it's tragic and crazy.

so you don't have to deal with that friend for a ride. You don't have to put up with that aggravation.

AIR! Cars are enclosed spaces - totally not cool - especially with someone who obviously isn't being nearly as cautious as you. I'm assuming she didn't wear a mask in the car?

A car driving with windows down is hardly a confined space. One of the guys at work got the Covid. At 49 ended up in ICU but has fully recovered.

But that not the point. His work partner shared a truck with him for 2 days while he was probably contagious. Realize they are seldom in the truck more than 15 minutes at a time between jobs. They kept the windows down, ran the air full blast and wore masks. His partner is clean. And it been 3 weeks. With that kind of airflow you are very unlikely to get a virus load necessary to get you sick.

As to your friend...she is obviously a friend since she is willing to help you. She is just brainwashed on this subject.
