I’d say it’s a foe, but one he won’t take seriously and can’t believe it keeps kicking his azz.

It destroyed his Presidency and legacy. His mishandling of it really.

The worst part for him was his own doing. The task force could have been a constructive public function and a powerful political instrument. Aaaand they screwed up. The most horrific point for Trump was himself. He seemed to think he’d sweep in and STAR in the show. What happened was an almost captive audience recoiled in horror at how truly revolting he is personally and how self consumed he is. Absolutely not one iota of a hint of compassion, empathy, or the most basic elements of human connection.

the GOP has had a nice run with it. Bringing the bucks to they and theirs. Continuing to dismantle those parts of government they dislike. Do god knows what behind the scenes. Trump is a beneficiary to some stuff, but he only cares about re-election, and what's good for Donald Trump. In that light, he ignores it. The fact that it is hurting him, must piss him off, but nothing he can do about it. It's like the GOP has chosen the course, and they're going to ride it out.

Killing his voters for one thing. Killing him in the polls for another. I’m sure he realizes that was the nail in the coffin for his re-election. I’m sure he would wish it away if he could. But so far that strategy hasn’t worked.
