The anti-Trumpers are at it again only this time, theyre Republicans.
Kevin, a lifelong Republican voter and pastor from Arizona, says he voted for Trump in 2016 with high hopes for the future. He knew that Trump didnt have the same political experience as the other contenders, but he was optimistic he could grow into his new role.
Now he says: Ive seen how he has tried to divide our country and that is not something I want, nor what our country should have
This man is an absolute danger to our country.
Kevins experience of voting for Trump and then quickly realizing hed made a mistake is one of many being used by Republican Voters Against Trump (RVAT), which wants to boot Trump out of office later this year. The group is seeking testimony from former Trump voters through its website, which displays the best quotes so far with pride. (Id vote for a tuna fish sandwich before I vote for Donald Trump again, reads one.)

(5,459 posts)These fucking morons don't deserve the time of day. They knew Doturd was an ignorant asshole before they voted for it.
Their misogyny and racism fueled their liking of the TRAITOR.
FUCK Doturd voters. Screw them all. They created this disaster. I will give no quarter.

(3,696 posts)Each one helps Biden whether or not they actually vote for him. I sense that most will. I refuse to waste energy being angry with these people because they got it wrong in 2016. I'll save that anger for those who still support Trump.

(66,328 posts)They knew exactly who and what Trump was long before they voted for him.
These people are full of shit.
Don't get me wrong; a vote for Biden is a vote for Biden. But I'm guessing these malletheads have lost more than a few friends and family members because of their selfish idiocy.

(13,776 posts)Before, maybe. Not now.
Not only is this election an existential one and we need every voter weve got, it is stupid and mean to kick people in the teeth if they have the self awareness and graciousness to publicly or even privately admit they were wrong.
Why would we want to score an own goal by telling anti-Trump voters to F off? Honestly, its like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

If there really are voters willing to switch from Trump to Biden, it seems like the smart play is to make it as easy and comfortable for them as possible.

Call me crazy.. I love these stories.. they won't be fooled again
There are some great testimonies there, YO.. TY!
ETA~ I see I'm in the minority.. no worries.. at least these people are sorry. Which is more that can be said for those damn 3rd party voters like susan "Hillary is More Dangerous than trump" sarandon & jill fucking stein LIES .
I'm far more distressed about the tools that have dug heels in and unwaveringly support PINO despite the manifest incompetence & unfitness for the gig.
Worst case is these people stay home.
PINO basically got installed because of 30,000 people who could have voted HRC, or 60,000 that just stayed home.
If they stay home, it's good. They vote Biden, even better.

(37,160 posts)I'll restrain my "eff'em" impulse, but I don't hold any great hope of most of them considering what else they fell for and parting ways with it. Much of what's at work here is what that lady said a year or so ago: "He's hurting the wrong people!" They're balking at Trump because they feel he's betrayed them, but they'll hop in line for the next charlatan who tells them what they want to hear.
But, at least for this election, that'll be enough.
However, I think a lot of people here will be surprised by how fast the Republicans go right back to their old tricks, to the fondly-remembered days of the Dubya administration. Too many people over there have a habit and business model that depends on the flow of bile.

So glad you are active in pulling them in for discussions. Maybe on abortion rights, you could pull them in using their libertarian values: if the govt can tell you that you can't, then they can tell you that you must. Good luck!
