Begala on Trump presser: "He's cracking. Crumbling. Melting. Get a straitjacket. And a mop."

Tweet from Paul Begala minutes ago, starting with a quote from the NY Times story tonight on Trump's bizarre performance today, with Begala's comments following:

“Even for a president who rarely sticks to the script and wanders from thought to thought, it was one of the most rambling performances of his presidency.”

He’s cracking.
Crumbling. Melting. Get a straitjacket. And a mop.

"immigrants and black people are bad, they will take your jobs and kill your children, etc." Selective listening is their true strength, next to sheer ignorance.

It’s the same trump as always. Getting into campaign mode. Mail in voter fraud. Bernie is the boogie man. Murderers from Latin America. Very hitlerish

When Reagan was declining, they were able to cover it up. He wasn't a call the shots guy.

This one is going to insist that his melt down into silly putty is going to be tweeted and televised live. He sounds like depression is setting in, that's not fatigue to me.

Seeing how this last one went, it is getting much more obvious. If we are lucky, he will be getting even more fruit loops to the point that nobody can deny it. That means, he is going to do something unexpectedly off, embarrassing and very in-congruent.

At least, I am waiting for that and have my fingers crossed. Thinking of something totally off the wall.

Rumor has it they're waiting for Labor Day weekend. So it's just not serious enough yet.

make Sarah Palin jealous! The only thing I can compare it to is an Isaac Asimov story, "I'm In Marsport Without Hilda." He's on altered Spaceoline. Free association on steroids. That was an "Apply rock to forehead" galactically-stoopid performance!

question and answer without going off on a word salad tangent. His descent into incoherence will be on display.

That is if he'll even consent to a debate. Judging from his latest public appearances, like today, it'll be a disaster. And he won't get any better come debate season. I'm thinking someone on his staff will come up with an excuse for not having debates. If they aren't thinking about that, they should be.
