Burger King hot on the trail of cow farts..

https://thetakeout.com/burger-kings-new-whopper-reduces-cow-farts-emissions-1844379106

The reason this video exists: Burger King—a company that is literally founded on the belief that beef is good—has announced an initiative to address the environmental impact of its most important commodity. The brand has, according to a press release, “partnered with top scientists to develop and test a new diet for cows, which according to initial study results, on average reduces up to 33% of cows’ daily methane emissions.”

I saw that last night and thought it must be satire, until I saw the BK logo at the end. fleur-de-lisa Jul 2020 #1

Simple. Feed them grass, which is what they evolved to eat, not corn. Aristus Jul 2020 #3

and I, too thought it was a parody. It's considered dangerous to use the word "fart" in a commercial, unless you're selling a pretty edgy product or service.

is to eat plant based meat like BK’s impossible burger, Beyond Meat burgers at Carl’s Jr. there has been an explosion of these offerings in the last year. Whole Foods now has their own brand as do several other grocery chains.

I like the ground beyond meat for all my ‘comfort’ foods like stroganoff, meatloaf, chili, and sloppy Joes.

I'm nowhere near ready to risk a takeout meal again, but pre-COVID, their impossible burger totally satisfied this vegan's junk food craving! (yeah, it's a bit of a stretch to really call it, or myself, vegan).

I’ve been extremely cautious and been on lockdown since early March...but I did suit up and went through Del Taco drive through last week to try their Beyond Meat tacos and burritos. 😬🤪

They were good, but the filling was a little ‘wet’ for my taste. Another thing I love are breakfast sandwiches. Whole Foods sells frozen vegan Egg squares by Just Egg. They also make Just Egg in a bottle to scramble, but the prepared squares along with Beyond Meat sausage and a slice of cheese (Viol-Life is one of my favorites) on a bun or English muffin are wonderful are a real treat and super fast.

They are way beyond evolved for the wild at this point. However there are natural feeds that do reduce emissions, in particular there are some seaweeds that work very well.

We also are omnivores and have evolved to eat meat.

Taking care of the soil is so important. It’s better for the planet and, apparently, a lot easier on the rancher. I liked his comment about “if I’d done this when I was your age I’d have 15 kids because I’m spending so much time at the house.”
