However, I googled the person's name to make sure. I do that a lot when I'm not certain of things.

As someone who writes satire from time to time, I know that subtlety is a key to successful satire. It has to be over the top enough to indicate that it is satire, but any successful satire will fool many people. If it fools nobody, then it's not satire.

Here on DU, I typically put a below my satirical writing. Why? Because too many times, people miss the other clues I provide to the satirical nature of what I wrote and alert on the post.

Google is a good tool. It lets you answer such questions for yourself.

I thought it was as it presented itself. Hence, I didn't google. And not everyone knows who is a satirist and who isn't, aside from the obvious ones, as you point out. In fact, when it first appeared, many thought the pic of Ivanka and can of beans was satire.

21. There were several clues in that video to its satirical nature.

It was "over the top" in several places. That's a tool of the satirist, and it's something to watch for.

However, spotting the things that brand it as satire requires paying close attention to what is being said. That particular satirist adopts the look of a stereotypical redneck Trump supporter. That's part of the satire. But, he goes way beyond what such a supporter would actually say during the video.

As I said, I wasn't familiar with him, so I looked him up on Google to make sure my assessment was correct.

Question everything. That's my advice.

As for Ivanka and the can of beans, perhaps that was satirical, too, although I doubt it. I don't think she's clever enough to pull off a satire. And then, there's her history of doing really, really stupid things.
