if he hasn't done already.
And, while he's at it, take away that Old Post Office building (aka Trump's fucked up D.C. hotel) from Trump Org. and restore it to its historical grandeur.

(7,396 posts)perhaps 20% of the races even have a Democrat running. But one thing I truly believe is that people here love their post office and especially their rural carriers. These carriers are a known part of our community. Making the USPS a plank and not just some random nod in a speech is imperative and costs virtually nothing. Biden needs to hammer Trump on this, as do all Democratic candidates down the line..

(7,811 posts)rule that required USPS to fund the pension 25 years (or 75 I dont remember) into the future. That was a poison pill rule that USPS has survived up until now.

(15,805 posts)Yeah, the PO had a banking in the past from 1911 to 1967, just like most other industrial countries like Japan, Great Britain, Germany, China and South Korea, they all provide banking services through their postal offices.
Several of our Congress critters, Sanders, Warren, Gillibrand, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are working on legislation to bring back limited banking services to the USPS.
The Postal Service already cashes Treasury checks and issues money orders. Adding other banking services would help poor folks, immigrants, the elderly and low wage workers get away from the payday lenders that rip them off.
