Oh, you libtards think the virus is killing a lot of Americans? Well, did you know Thousands of Americans are committing suicide because they can’t take having to stay at home due to corona virus restrictions? Yep, it’s true, just as true as Jeebuz existing. It’s the untold story that the media is hiding.

I’ve heard this shit from two R-leaning acquaintances within the last week.

Spikes in suicide rates would be tracked. So, what's their source? And no, their asses do not count.

killing themselves because of the lockdown. The argument was more businesspeople would kill themselves than people would die of covid if things opened up.

or this new network OANN. I wish our side was better at tracking the origin of these things. MAGAts wouldn't care, but it would be interesting to know.

And a lot of it stemmed from being isolated in her nursing home after covid crackdown.

It was horrible listening to her talk about the loneliness, then sadness, then depression, then paranoia that no one loved her, and then suicide is ok talk.

It's just an anecdote, but I don't think we can dismiss the impact of semi-isolation on our high-risk community.

Google Harry Harlow on his experiments with monkeys and isolation. It's not a happy story.

ps. It took about 4 weeks by my mother is doing better now.

Yes, there are plenty of other conditions that aren't getting treated because of CV 19. The hospitals are filled with people who have the virus, are others are either afraid to go to the hospital or cannot get admitted. Psychological diseases are no different. The best thing to do is get CV 19 under control so that our health care professionals can attend to all illnesses.

Reasons for concerns about the impact of Covid 19 on mental health have been raised by reputable sources:

A number of studies have been performed to examine the effect of the COVID-19 crisis on the mental health of the general population, health care professionals and individuals with psychiatric disorders.6–16 Wang et al.6 examined psychological responses during the initial stage of the COVID-19 epidemic in the general population in China. The authors found that 53.8% of 1210 respondents rated the psychological impact of the outbreak as moderate or severe, 16.5% reported moderate to severe depressive symptoms and 28.8% reported moderate to severe anxiety symptoms. Qiu et al.7 performed a countrywide survey that included 52?730 people in China during the COVID-19 epidemic and found that about 35% of the participants had psychological distress. This is consistent with the results of a recent Kaiser Family Foundation survey indicating that 45% of adults in the USA report that their mental health has been negatively impacted due to worry and stress over the coronavirus.8

Suicides on the rise amid stay-at-home order, Bay Area medical professionals say
https://abc7news.com/suicide-covid-19-coronavirus-rates-during-pandemic-death-by/6201962/

Doctors at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek say they have seen more deaths by suicide during this quarantine period than deaths from the COVID-19 virus.
The head of the trauma in the department believes mental health is suffering so much, it is time to end the shelter-in-place order.

"Personally I think it's time," said Dr. Mike deBoisblanc. "I think, originally, this (the shelter-in-place order) was put in place to flatten the curve and to make sure hospitals have the resources to take care of COVID patients. We have the current resources to do that and our other community health is suffering."

The numbers are unprecedented, he said. "We've never seen numbers like this, in such a short period of time," he said. "I mean we've seen a year's worth of suicide attempts in the last four weeks."

Kacey Hansen has worked as a trauma nurse at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for almost 33 years. She is worried because not only are they seeing more suicide attempts, she says they are not able to save as many patients as usual.

by lockdowns and other anti-covid-19 restrictions, and probably some suicides as well. But there is help for depression and not much for covid-19. Do we eliminate all restrictions and kill hundreds of thousands?
