Depressing: Nearly one-third of children tested for COVID in Florida are positive.

Nearly one-in-three children tested for the new coronavirus in Florida has been positive, and a South Florida health official is concerned the disease could cause lifelong damage even for children with mild illness.

Dr. Alina Alonso, Palm Beach County’s health department director, warned county commissioners Tuesday that much is unknown about the long-term health consequences for children who catch COVID-19

X-rays have revealed the virus can cause lung damage even in people without severe symptoms, she said.

“They are seeing there is damage to the lungs in these asymptomatic children. ... We don’t know how that is going to manifest a year from now or two years from now,” Alonso said. “Is that child going to have chronic pulmonary problems or not?”

The grief is very heavy on my heart. The outlook for our near future is bleak.

These kids may have issues from covid19 for years to come.

My fear is that Biden will have things rolling by 2022 when DeSantis runs for re-election and he will claim credit for things being better. And many here will buy that claim.

The districts need to make the guidelines a clean 1 -2 - 3. Trying to figure out the crap they're putting online is brain drain. I have been doing searches for an hour, and if I were debating to send my kid to school, fuck that, no way. Hopefully parents are getting emails that are clear and concise, because the trash online is useless.

Only people concerned generally about having it are being tested.

And if mom or dad has it chances are their 2 kids do as well.

It’s a self selecting group.
