Williams ran video of pundit Jason Johnson saying we won't have a winner on election night, that it will take a while to get the voluminous mail-in ballots (thanks to the pandemic) counted, during which Trump is going to send teams of lawyers and possibly shows of force to counting centers.

In response, Heilman noted a scenario he heard proffered wherein Trump finds a friendly red state governor to send their national guard troops to surround the White House and protect Trump from being extracted. I don't find that likely.

would remain in place. They have to take orders from superior officers, correct? All it would take is someone cut from the same cloth as Mattis or the other high-ranking officers who have turned on Trump and those troops would stand down.

he's the commander-in-chief and Trump is a civilian. Fat Donnie can scream for the governors to send in the national guard, and it would have the same power as if you or I did it. Except in our case it wouldn't be met with universal laughter and derision. He'd be just another old Ken (Karen's older brother) shouting at the wind.

Trump refuses to leave and Biden just does his presidenting from Camp David or wherever. I don’t understand why Trump’s continuing to squat in the White House would be a problem.

Not to imply that you think it would, just wondering why Jason would be worried.

the period between election day and inauguration, where Trump might try to monkey wrench everything possible. I just don't see it working because too many serious in other seats of power have grown tired of his act.

Because he's not the president. He's a Russian asset and we've been witnessing a disinformation-based coup for 4 years running. The RNC is in on it, the GOP Congress is in on it. They've infiltrated state and local governments. You think they're letting go?

If only it was as simple as "the winner takes all". There can't be a winner when the means to determine the winner are ratfucked beyond recognition.

And let's face it. Every time we've flexed our muscles, they've won the battle. Every. Fucking. Time. Mueller investigation? Eff that. Impeachment? Eff that.

Election? What a quaint concept.

Sorry for my tone, but their ability to undermine justice and the constitution is undefeated. Sure, we whip them for months at a time. But they're always getting the last laugh. We shouldn't think that just because 65% of the people want him out, he's going away. It'll take more than an election to accomplish that.
