N.Y. couple accused of racist attack on Mystic hotel clerk posts bail
The man and woman from New York charged with a racist attack on a Mystic hotel clerk have been released from custody after their extradition to Connecticut, police said Tuesday.
Philip Sarner posted his $75,000 bail, and Orbay posted her $50,000 bond, Stonington police said. The bonds were court-set, which means they were set by a judge.
The U.S. Marshals Service and the New York Police Department found Sarner and Orbay in Brooklyn, N.Y. early Monday and took them into custody. The two were brought to Connecticut later in the day and arrested on assault and racial bias charges at the Stonington police station about 9:15 p.m., police said.
