It's one thing to have fucked this up in March and April, but in June and July? After what we knew from NY/NJ?

DeSantis is unfit for office, period. This is a horror and a tragedy.

3. I still have one question

Why are elderly people and people with underlying conditions still being exposed to the virus in South Florida? It doesn't make any sense at this point. We know about the virus; its on tv everyday. They know how to stay safe. Everywhere I go here in North Florida, almost all elderly people I see have been wearing masks since April or May. So how are these people still getting it? Not the 16-25 age set; I get them. People 65 and up. It makes little sense. Is it still being spread in hospitals/nursing homes/ALF's? All these folks can't be getting it from younger folks who went to bars. This is the kind of thing that fuels "conspiracy theories", because the rate simply shouldn't be this high this far into the game and elderly folks shouldn't still be getting exposed at such a high rate.

Think about it. The workers in those places go home, many of those workers don’t wear face masks when in public. If a person is infected, even with them wearing a mask in a Nursing Home, there will be low level leakage from the edges of the mask, then add in 8 hours of that in recirculated air.

Is where it all started. That's 100% the case here in North Florida and, from what I heard, is what happened in Broward/Dade/Palm Beach. It shouldn't still be spreading in those.

4. Consider how many cases they have if testing were easy

It’s ridiculous how difficult it is to get a COVID-19 test in Florida. I have a friend who works in a busy ER and says she’d have to wait in line with everyone else to get tested.

Between Trump and DeSantis and what criteria they impose,
I tend to think the numbers are somewhat higher.

If the rest of the country was seeing the same COVID 19 death rate we would be experiencing some 2,600 COVID 19 fatalities a day.

Clearly the virus should be gone by the end of the month.
