Just envision what his hair must look like, fresh out of the shower. Probably forms a thin curtain over his eyes, and hangs to his shoulder on one side with a giant, shiny dome on the top and back. I admit to being fascinated with how those follicles could possibly be structure to form his coiffe. I give him credit for doing that on a daily basis.

(10,667 posts)But assholeness aside, the lightbulb thing is complicated

President Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized energy-efficient lightbulbs, saying that the bulbs people are being forced to use are more expensive, contain hazardous gases and give off light thats not as good as incandescents. Experts, however, say thats an outdated and inaccurate description of the current technology.
Much of what Trump said applies to some degree to compact fluorescent, or CFL, bulbs, which contain mercury and tend to have less-than-ideal color quality. But light-emitting diode, or LED, bulbs are the dominant environmentally friendly technology. They have no such safety risks and in most cases provide comparable or even superior light at a cheaper lifetime cost than incandescents.
Trump spoke about lightbulbs at his Sept. 9 rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he referenced his administrations decision to reverse a 2017 rule that would have extended energy-efficiency standards to irregularly shaped bulbs and prohibited the sale of most traditional incandescents by Jan. 1, 2020. Trump said he wasnt a vain person, but that he looks better under an incandescent light than these crazy lights that are beaming down on.

He's been on this toilet flush/showers depleted schtick before. Doesn't sound anymore sane now than it did months ago. Unless he's talking about communities water starved because of fracking companies using all the available water. Doubtful. Beyond that I'm not sure where he's getting these stories. He doesn't believe in Climate Change, so it surely wouldn't be depleted water sources due to changing temps, droughts, etc.
It's a mystery. But fully Trumpian in that it makes no sense.
PS: Could this be a rant on water saver features that companies have installed for showers and toilets? I have a choice on the toilet in my basement: full flush or less depending on what button I push. Frankly, I haven't noticed a discernible difference. Same thing with my shower heads. Trump is all about throwing these environmental features out, the energy saving light bulbs, for instance.
Still crazy. But then yes, the question would be: Does he ever take a shower? Or flush a toilet or wash his hands?

(7,947 posts)This isn't something complicated like "How did Trump get Putin to interfere in our election?"
This is something every single one of us deals with every day. They know and we know-- you turn on the shower, the water comes on. It doesn't stop until you turn it off.
Your faucet has water for you to wash your hands. If you don't turn it off, it will run water all day.
Dishwashers have plenty of water and wash your dishes.
More than anything, reporters need to ask, "Mr. President, if this is a problem, why haven't you fixed it in your 3.5 years as president? Too busy golfing? Or maybe it's not a problem at all?"
