The testing facilities in our area aren't doing that anymore. Caliman73 Jul 2020 #3
Well, that's a little better than the brain probe, I guess. BusyBeingBest Jul 2020 #4

Nose doesn't bother me, if they start asking to drop your trousers and bend over, I'm gone. cayugafalls Jul 2020 #5

swab going up the snoot and deep into the brain would give me pause about getting tested, frankly.

They are doing mid sinus swabs now. I got tested twice in the past couple of months because I work with a vulnerable population. First time it was the back of the sinus (AKA poking your brain through your nose) that did hurt, but it was fairly short duration. Second time, I was preparing for it, but the PA that administered the test said, "We don't do that. We are doing mid sinus now. Good news, no more poking your brain, bad news, it is both nostrils now." So, I got both nostrils swabbed at the mid sinus. It was unpleasant but not as bad as the first test.

I had it done a few months ago and went into it after the flu swabs in December thinking that this was the same and everyone else was a baby. I now consider myself Queen Baby after that. My husband who is a retired physician sitting next to me in the car gasped when the nurse did the final push to the end.
