I am a native of Macon-Bibb County, Georgia, and by the time I left that medium-sized city in 2016, one couldn’t be elected to a county-wide office unless one ran as a Democrat. Like the rest of the country, the rural areas are generally red, and the urban areas are generally blue. In Georgia, Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, Savannah, and Albany are blue ... believe it or not. That said, nearly all of the rest of the state is red.

We nearly elected Stacey Abrams. Georgia deserves a little credit. Georgia is definitely NOT Mississippi.

I think on a national level, Atlanta is very important. Major airport, pro sports, development, progressive restaurants, social museums...etc.
