It should be the " Washington Foreskins " because of all the Dick Head republicans in DC

(25,841 posts)and go for the kind of name no professional football team has even dreamed up.
Personally, I'm going with The Washington Azaleas.
Kansas City Chiefs you're next! How about the Kansas City Interns. Plenty of hospitals there, why not? Or the Kansas City Missourians. Because the Kansas City in question is in Missouri, not in Kansas. So, let's see. Missouri is the Show Me state. Kansas City Show Me doesn't work. Okay, how about the Kansas City Mules. A mule is the state animal, and mules' famous stubbornness works.
I honestly don't understand why these teams aren't consulting with me for their new names.

(6,280 posts)....fans, a fair and stimulating name is probably not possible. As a gesture of all inclusiveness, they should go with something like.......
'THE WASHINGTON BLAND' yay
The motto could be.....
"HEY, I'M JUST STANDIN' HERE!!!"

(11,646 posts)Without a doubt, one of the strangest college sports mascots has to be Scrotie, the unofficial RISD mascot (Rhode Island School of Design). The costume is unique and at the same time horrific, looking exactly like a giant penis wearing a red cape with the scrotum hanging beneath.
The school's basketball team is known as the Balls, and their slogan is, "When the heat is on, the Balls stick together." The hockey team is called the Nads, and their cheer is "Go Nads!" Scrotie was created to cheer on the Nads in 2001. Despite his status as an unofficial mascot, he's present at all the games and widely accepted by the student body.

(101,295 posts)Applegate is one of 15 former female Redskins employees who told The Washington Post they were sexually harassed during their time at the club. The other 14 women spoke on the condition of anonymity citing a fear of litigation, as some signed nondisclosure agreements with the team that threaten legal retribution if they speak negatively about the club. The team declined a request from The Post to release former female employees from these agreements so they could speak on the record without fear of legal reprisal. This story involved interviews with more than 40 current and former employees and a review of text messages and internal company documents.
Team owner Daniel Snyder declined several requests for an interview. Over the past week, as The Post presented detailed allegations and findings to the club, three team employees accused of improper behavior abruptly departed, including Larry Michael, the clubs longtime radio voice, and Alex Santos, the teams director of pro personnel.
And lets be clear that this is the result of organizational defects that hang on Snyder 100% whether or not he was directly involved with the harassment:
The teams human resources staff consists of one full-time staffer who also performs administrative duties at team headquarters responsible for more than 220 full-time employees, according to several former employees.
Theres no HR, said one former veteran female employee who left in 2019. And there was never a reporting process, nor was one explained to new employees about how you should report something.
Not that I think Goodell and the other orders will force Snyder out even so, but I hope that the week of hints and rumors that preceded this wont diminish what should be a big story.
