Update:

I have an infection in my intestine. It gave me all the symptoms of Covid except my sense of smell and taste are good.

A simple course of Ampicillin should knock it loose in 10 days.

But to give you all a taste of what Covid is doing here in small town Texas: the ER Doctor and his wife and his wife's parents have had it: it took a month for the Doctor to get over it - his father-in-law died four days ago.

The scary thing I take away from it is not only are masks and hand washing the most important things we can do: They are the ONLY things we can do besides staying away from as many people as we can. There is no way to completely cut yourself away from the contact of the world.

How anyone can deny we are in the middle of a tough pandemic is beyond crazy.

Thank-you all for your kindness and thoughts, I am still moved over the response I got a year ago over my cancer surgery

68. My 80-year old friend did fine

80 year old ex-smoker (quit in his 50’s) with 4 stents in his arteries. He had what was like a bad flu but did fine. Not to minimize COVID, I just think it’s helpful to hear some hopeful news as well.

Hopefully you don’t have COVID at all, but if you do the doctors have come leaps and bounds on how to treat it.

Had a Dr today suggest I go to a hospital too after my infection after a root canal has rared up. Got stronger antibiotics and something for the pain .Will see him Sat. morning. I won't go unless it still gets worse. Also learned two friends had covid-19, one not bad and the man was a lot worse but better now. Be careful everyone , it spreads so easy now.

Mrs Marble Falls made me call VA (I live about 80 miles from Temple VA hospital) and that nurse said, "Call 911 or get to the ER right now."

We drove to Scott and White in about ten minutes and I'm glad I went.

about the self quarantine. There were weeks we did not leave the house (except to put food out for the feral kitties). We never left the house on weekends when the out of town yahoos are in town. We've had takeout exactly three times since mid March and not in over a month since a window person at BK came down with it.

Fortunately, it was something else I can't explain how I got it. But treatable and very very low on the "life threatening" scale.
