Imagine how aghast the right would feel if "USA!" and "BLM!" were synonymous chants

It seems to me , we need to claim symbols before the right ruins them forever.

U.S.A.!! chants and the flag should be a staple of our protests--be the protest Occupy, or BLM, sensible gun laws, or whatever.

I think it is to our benefit to respond to right wing idiocy with symbols they can understand. We've lost the Gadsden flag and the Betsy Ross flag to them. It's time for the left to take our symbols back and then rub it in their faces.

Thoughts?

USA to the jingoists.I would feel stupid doing it. Now, Black Lives Matter has meaning and content and I’m happy to chant that.

A lot of good people died under the banner that actually represents us and our ideals. I don't want to give it to the fascists without a fight.

TV induced sports world and has exactly nothing to do with dying for your country. In my elderly opinion.

I don't want the Stars and Stripes to be the next century's Confederate Flag.

While symbols aren't worth dying for, I am not suggesting death as a strategy. Peppering in USA between "We are the 99%, "Whose Streets? Our Streets!" is all I am suggesting.

There is certainly a discussion to be had about the definition of patriotism and what it might look like both in everyday civic life and in protests.
