Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to WH Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany: 'Hey Karen. Watch Your Mouth.'

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany: ‘Hey Karen. Watch Your Mouth.’

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany are feuding. After McEnany called Lightfoot “the derelict mayor of Chicago” and suggested she should request federal aid in combating the city’s problems with the new coronavirus and gun violence, Lightfoot shot back on Twitter, “Hey Karen. Watch your mouth,” invoking the meme of a white person, often a woman, who harasses a person of color unprovoked. President Donald Trump and his administration have been known to harp on murder rates and shootings in Chicago, especially when the administration is facing criticism of their own, leading critics to suggest the topic is a distraction.

and in a week and a couple of days I'll be back to being the normal "Wreck of the Hesperus" that makes me me.

I'm waiting for Covid to clear so I can go to Goldbraith, Tex to leave flowers at the grave of the last of the "turkey processor boys" from that article you posted about Iowa a few years back. He died earlier this year and his life after was better, he actually ended up owning his own house in Waterloo, Iowa and came to Tex a year or so ago where he was from. He was surrounded by friends - his family being all gone.

For some reason the OP of yours really got to me. I was living in Iowa not more than 20miles or so from where he was enslaved while he was still being used and abused.

I moved to Texas before he was freed, and he moved to Texas after you posted your OP.

We're all connected somehow. More of us need to come to that understanding and act like it. Your OP is clear example of the real connection we all have.

I think a lot of people use it because its as close to using the "r" word here as is allowed. At best its ageist.

Not slang, an actual word in the English lexicon. It's not a number, it's use here refers specifically to tRump, I don't see it used here for anything else. It's not being used to slander the the entire elder population.
